Guest post from Andy Olley

November became ‘Movember’ this year at JCPR,  as the firm, stout, single minded men of JCPR stepped up to the plate and took on an epic ‘tache growing challenge.

But what is Movember I hear you cry? Well come closer and I shall begin…

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK. The aim of which is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

But it’s not just a few men in the UK warming their upper lips and talking bollocks – sorry – about their bollocks – it’s a genuinely global affair.

Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne Australia, Movember has grown to become a truly global movement with formal campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, South Africa and Ireland.

Movember aims to change the established habits and attitudes that men have about their health, educate them about the health risks they face and get them to act on that knowledge, thereby increasing the chances of early detection, diagnosis and effective treatment.

The beginning…

The end…

A fantastic £2,407 was raised through some truly dreadful but much needed facial hair!
