A wave of sadness is set to spread across the country today, after the devastating news has emerged that ‘vajazzling’ – the so-called decorating of intimate parts of the female anatomy using Swarovski crystals – could be on the decline after the supplier which sold kits used by Amy Childs, star of ITV2’s The Only Way is Essex, announced it has gone bust.
Billed as the biggest beauty trend in years, a recent poll by ITV found a staggering 54 per cent of those surveyed were considering undergoing the treatment. The announcement is sure to come as a blow to Childs, who was due to open her own salon where vajazlling was ‘expected to be popular’.
The supplier of the crystals, Vajazzle.me UK Limited, has called in a firm to liquidate assets. Speaking to Insolvency News, the firm vowed to continue its important work with a new company titled ‘VCouture’. Perhaps what they say is true, all that glitters is not gold – at least not in this case.
