So I’m still here at JCPR. My two week internship has turned into 2 months! Initially I was working on clients such as Xbox, Motorola, Covent Garden, Hilton, London 2012 and Puma. I have since moved over to the Consumer Team. I have been working on Best Buy, Starbucks, Iberostar, Diamond Jubilee, Chicago, Captain Morgan, Hilton, Canderel and Pure Via.
I have had the opportunity to help out with events for Best Buy, Pure Via and Starbucks. It was great being able to get out of the office and actively participate with clients and the public. We had a pre-Christmas red cups exclusive for Starbucks. I love coffee and Starbucks so I was super stoked to be able to try all the Christmas drinks before they were released to the public. My favourite would definitely have to be the toffee-nut Latte – delish!
For Best Buy we had the Tampa Bay Buccaneer cheerleaders all the way from America down at the Best Buy store in Hayes as part of the promotion of the NFL game that was held a few days later. I helped to organise this and we had local school children come down and learn some cheerleading moves – they all loved it! I was in charge of looking after them and it reminded me of my previous job as a School Guidance Counsellor; it was great to be able to give them an opportunity to do something completely different and it seemed as though they really enjoyed themselves.
I was unable to make it to the Pure Via event as it clashed with another event but I helped organise this which gave me a great insight into the detail that goes into organising an event and the stress levels leading up to one too!
During my time at JCPR I have done a variety of tasks – coverage tracking, media lists and phone calls, sell-in’s, competitions, research etc. Some days can get a bit repetitive but when you are working on a variety of clients you chop and change the type of jobs you’re doing throughout the day making the time whiz by.
I have also gotten to know the consumer team really well and love being part of the pod. As the countdown to my final day begins I will be sad to leave as I really feel as though I am now part of the JCPR family.
